If you’re a problem solver, here’s a career you can count on.

An equation for success?  You + math = success.

Do the math. A mathematics-related career adds up to success.

The Department of Mathematics delivers a wide range of transferable courses such as College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I, Calculus II and Calculus III. Competence in mathematical manipulations and problem-solving techniques using principles of mathematics can prepare you for advancement in many of TSTC’s technologies, such as engineering and computer science.

An Associate of Science degree in Mathematics is equivalent to the first two years of a traditional undergraduate bachelor’s degree and would transfer to any four-year university in Texas. Mathematicians are in big demand nationwide with employment expected to grow a whopping 43 percent in Texas, much faster than the average for all occupations. Mathematicians can work in federal government, private science and engineering research companies. The median annual wage for mathematicians is a six-figure income, and that's a number you can't help but like.
